We’ve all been to receptions that are standard – we welcome and celebrate the new married couple, watch them dance, and enjoy cake with them. But creative couples often enjoy coming up with fun games that include the entire guest list.

Including the guests is an excellent way to get people out of their chairs, meeting people they might not otherwise know and feeling like they are truly a part of the celebration, not just observers.

One fun and active game that can be played by all your guests, including grandma as well as the young children, is “want it now”.

In this game, you designate a master of ceremonies (if you have a DJ for your wedding reception, this person can serve as the DJ). The MC will have a list of “wants” prepared before the reception. Everyone sits at their tables, and waits to hear the command. The MC says he wants a person with painted toenails. All the women with painted toenails run to the front of the room, toward the MC. Each time a table sends someone to the front first, they get a point.

Points should be tallied during the course of this game and prizes awarded at the end of the game. Be sure to have some obvious “wants”, as is the painted toenails, or a man with a mustache or a child with a pink dress. But also include some surprises, like “a man with a brown purse” which will require a man to find a woman at his table with the brown purse and run up to the front of the room with that.

Another fun wedding reception game that includes all your guests is musical chairs using men as the chairs. All the men line up and kneel on one knee. The women begin playing the game of musical chairs, but when the music stops, they must find a knee to sit on. No “chairs” are removed during the version of the game, but instead people are eliminated when either the man falls down when the woman finds his knee or when the woman falls down. Both are out either way, and if both fall down, they are also both out then (as well as perhaps a bit bruised). This is a fun game that often brings on gales of laughter and adds to a relaxed reception atmosphere.

If many guests are traveling a good distance to the wedding or don’t know many other guests, it’s always fun to include a game that will allow them to now only get to know each other but the bride and groom as well. For this game, you’ll need a MC again, which can be a very outgoing member of the wedding party or the DJ. The reception guests are broken into two groups, which can be as simple as having people count off “1, 2, 1, 2″ and so on until the entire guest list is either a “1″ or a “2″. Then the two groups band together for the duration of the game.

The DJ, or MC, offers a series of questions relating to the bride and groom. The teams should work together to answer the questions, then as quickly as possible provide the answer. The bride and groom will confirm if the answer is correct or not. This is an excellent way for otherwise “stranger” guests to get to know one another and have some fun in the process. It’s also an excellent way to get to know the bride and groom!

Organizing games at a wedding reception is a great way to get people involved and make them feel they are truly a part of the celebration. It’s also a way to fill time, if the wedding planners know this isn’t a “dancing” group or if you want to loosen people up for a long night of celebrating. Whether a small or large wedding, reception games work for just about any group.

In addition, don’t assume wedding reception guests will be offended or annoyed by these active games. Most people report to wedding planners they truly enjoy being more active and having fun games to play during a wedding reception.

Most of the time, preparing for a wedding is stressful. This holds true whether the person planning is the bride and groom or a wedding planner. It is stressful because there are plenty of concerns to look into, with various options and a lot of decisions to make. This is even more stressful with the time pressure set on the date. Still on top of this, there is the concern in budget management for all the needed items in the wedding.

What most planners do for the wedding preparation is to hire wedding providers that can ease up the preparation. Providers can help wedding preparations by providing wedding items that are readily matched with the theme of the wedding, the budget, and the time to produce. While there are many more items needed in the wedding, one of the initial items that could be of concern is choosing providers for the wedding invitation. Even wedding invitations providers need to match the wedding’s theme, budget and deadline.

Aside from the design of the wedding place, the required attire and the programs, the wedding invitations also reveal the theme of the wedding. If the wedding invitation is formal, then one can expect that the guests should wear formal attires. Likewise, the event is expected to be formal as well as the flow of the programs. But if the invitation is comical, then guests can come in casual and light attire to match the theme. In other words, the theme of the wedding reveals a lot to the guests’ expectation and the invitation can be the gateway to communicate such theme.

If the bride and groom decide to give out save the dates, this too should match the theme of the wedding. It would be confusing if the save the dates uses a comical theme and the wedding invitation uses formal theme. Some guests may think that the wedding has a funky theme even though it released a formal wedding invitation since the save the date may be the one that will be noted of. It is then important that both notices should be consistent in the theme that it carries.

To have a wedding invitation and save the dates in one theme, planners for the wedding should get invitations from one source only. This way, the prints carry the same theme although out starting from save the dates to the final wedding invitation.

Fortunately, there are several companies that offer invitation products. When you avail the services of these providers, be sure that they are able to match their prints with your preferred theme. This will make your wedding theme consistent although out. Aside from this, the provider of invitations should know the importance of the theme as well as one who offers affordable costs and can meet the deadline.

One of the companies that offer wedding invitations and save the dates is Love Me Always. Although they offer many products and themes that you can choose from, they also offer customized invitation cards when you prefer your personal designs. They can match there invitation cards with your theme so that consistency is attained.

Love Me Always specializes in any kinds of invitations for couples from the save the dates up to baptismal invitation for babies. They are not only offering ready-made products. They also accept customized designs and other printing services that you may need in your event.

Statistically, there are so many things that could possibly go wrong with the planning and execution of a wedding that only 0.04 per cent of them should succeed. So why do we even try? The answer is obvious, of course: it’s because we are willing to overcome hell and high water to tie the knot with the one we love. And anyway, just because a few things might go wrong, the vast majority will probably run like clockwork. Here are just a few potential pitfalls … and how to clamber out of them.

Badly Behaved Bentley

As any car owner knows, they are not always renowned for their reliability, especially when you simply must be somewhere else. With thousands of working parts in each vehicle, only one has to fail for everything to grind to a halt. Your optimism might not be boosted by the stories of flat tyres, engines overheating and even running out of petrol on the big day. Just put them to the back of your mind. The car company should have a backup plan, even if it’s phoning a taxi. And you should never underestimate the kindness of strangers … especially if you’re wearing a wedding dress.

The British weather

You chose to get married in Britain, so you can’t really complain when there’s a downpour just as you’re making your way from the car to the venue. We might all want a nice sunny day for the wedding, but it’s just another thing you’ll have to put down to chance, whatever month you get married in. On the bright side, overcast skies can actually make the photographs look prettier by taking away harsh highlights and shadows, and if it’s really pouring down, you might be able to have the wedding pictures taken in the venue or at the reception.

Altar states of mind

There’s something about being in front of your gathered family and friends during one of the most pivotal moments of your life that can make even the hardest constitution turn to jelly. The moments surrounding the actual wedding are fraught with horrors. We hear of Best Men losing rings, brides and grooms forgetting the name of the person they are marrying, slips, falls and faints and bouts of uncontrollable weeping. It’s easy to say now, but don’t panic! Everyone knows how nervous you are, and unless you’re a trained performer, it’s probably all new to you. No matter how perfect you wanted it all to be, these are the moments when a laugh and a bow will go a long way. You’ll have forgotten about it by the time you’re opening your wedding gifts anyway!

Absentees you could do without

It’s a given that a no-show from the bride or groom will put a stop to the day’s revelry, but it’s amazing how many people there are whose absence could spoil the day. The best man must rate pretty highly, especially if he has the ring. And the officiant should probably make an appearance. But other people do get double-booked or simply forget to turn up on the day, and this can really put a dampener of proceedings. Imagine the disco without a DJ. Or the reception without the master of ceremonies. Or any of the venues without the appropriate staff. This is why a confirmation call a month, a week and the day before the wedding should go straight into your wedding planner. Make sure every single person, from the flower girl to the florist, is reminded. And it would also help if you had a list of backups just in case.

So to make a wedding a success, it pays to get a wedding planner and plan ahead and in great detail. But come the day of the wedding, don’t be surprised if everything doesn’t quite work out as you had hoped. It’s all part of making your wedding yours, and the bigger the catastrophe, the longer it’ll be remembered!

Weddings are exciting events to look forward to. There is probably no such thing as a failed wedding event, for all weddings are fun. But there are notable differences between a good wedding event, and an excellent wedding event. If you stop and think about wedding events, you realize that there are a ton of logistical issues to think about – guest lists, wedding locations, food catering, wedding suits and dresses, and more. How great the event turns out to be ultimately depends on the attention that is given to all the details. So for sure, having someone with a great eye for detail to help plan the wedding would be a wise idea. This is the time when couples should be seeking help from friends, family members, and from professional wedding planners. A wedding event is a once in a lifetime affair, and it’s certainly not a small affair. Friends and family would be more than happy to help as this gives them an opportunity to participate and share the joy and excitement with the groom and bride. Besides, more hands to help mean more time, effort and resources can be put into the preparations for the event. This is almost like an iron-clad guarantee that the event will turn out to be a great one.

Having said that, be reminded not to underestimate the services of professional wedding planners. Wedding planners can certainly help in relieving the tension and stress that usually comes with organizing a large scale event that involves hundreds of people. That’s because as professionals, they have had tons of opportunities to plan and organize wedding events for many couples. As a result, they are usually more experienced when it comes to getting things done. They would know where the pitfalls are, what mistakes to avoid, and are in a better position to dish out valuable advice.

For example, Fort Lauderdale is a city with many hotels, resorts and beaches. These are all potential venues for holding the wedding. But research still needs to be done because the couple will have to find out vital information like the capacity of the venue, the food menu, and the prices. Professional wedding planners will be able to provide such information readily. In addition, sometimes wedding planners have corporate tie-ups with hotels and resorts, and this means that they will be able to pass some savings on to the couple. So before making any decisions, it’s always a good idea to consult a wedding planning consultant.

On top of that, wedding planners usually add value by providing tons of ideas on how to make the event more fun and entertaining for the guests. For instance, they may come up with ideas for games, themes, etc. Having more people to bounce off ideas is definitely a good thing. The couple may then choose the best ideas that they like from the list, and have the planner help to work out all the details.

As in any events, if you’re looking for someone to help plan your wedding event, the important thing is that the person planning and handling the event for you has a pair of safe hands. That means you can trust him or her to always have a back up plan, stay on top of things, and be able to react quickly to unexpected situations. These are the wedding planners that you want to hire and engage.

Wedding Solutions’ Favorite Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

By Alex A. Lluch

www.weddingsolutions.com

www.wspublishing.com

Many couple’s top concern when planning their wedding is how to save money while still have a beautiful, memorable day. Here are Wedding Solutions’ top tips for having an amazing wedding day, without breaking the bank.

First of all, identify what is important to you. Especially if price is a concern, you have to prioritize. Is the dress the most important item for you? Is it the flowers? A specific photographer? If you have to have a particular item or vendor, you need to identify this right away.

Second, make sure whomever you hire as your wedding vendors connect with you, no matter what price you are paying. Hire someone you trust and who makes you laugh and relax, who puts you at ease. If you don’t connect with your vendors, don’t hire them because YOU can’t be uptight on your big day.

Third, make sure the vendors you connect with are the ones who will be actually handling your event. (Have specific name(s) listed in the contract.)

Fourth, although vendors generally get booked at 9 months out, if you can wait, most vendors are more willing to negotiate closer to the wedding day. While we don’t recommend waiting until the last minute, the closer you are to your wedding date, the higher your chance of being able to negotiate with the vendor.

There are a few specific places in the wedding-planning process where you can save money.  Here are Wedding Solutions’ favorite picks for money-saving tips:

5. Whether 9 months out or 3 months out, negotiate for a better deal: The following are just some of the ways you can work with vendors to make sure you are getting the most for your wedding dollar. Either more time, or a percentage discount or a free engagement portrait, etc.

–Percentage Discount -

example: If I hire you for the wedding and reception, can I get a 10% discount?

–Free Sitting Included with Package -

example: If I hire you to photograph the wedding and reception, would you throw in a free engagement sitting?

–Free Photo Album

example: If I hire you to shoot my wedding and reception will you include a free photo album with the package. (Be sure to get at least 20 pictures included.)

Another option is to hire a professional for 2 hours, then hire a less expensive photographer for less-important shots, or ask your friends to email you the best of the pictures they took on their digital cameras.

The point is, always ask, “How can we work together to make this happen?”

4. Choose the right day. If want to save money, Friday and Sunday mornings are the best days to get married. Even consider Sunday brunch. Saturday is the most popular day – and thus, the worst day – to get married. A Sunday brunch is a great idea and will definitely save you money, both on the location and the food and bar tab. People eat and drink less during the day than at night.

3. Refreshments: Offer only beer and wine, or have an open bar for just an hour, offer only then beer and when. Save money by serving champagne only for the toast. Place buckets filled with water bottles about the reception area. People will want a drink, and many will be happy with the water rather than taking time to go to the bar.

2. Flowers:

One of the easiest ways to save money is by choosing flowers that are locally grown and in-season. Skipping the exotic options can cut costs by 1/3.  Expensive and fragile blooms include stephanotis, orchids, and gardenias. A less expensive option might include Gerber daisies. They’re hardy and available year round. Carnations are also very inexpensive, come in many colors, and are available year round.

Another tip for saving money is to use greenery or ivy in your trellis and bouquet. Greenery is substantially cheaper than cut flowers.

1. Attire: Dress and Tuxedo

The Tuxedo: Generally, the groom’s tux is free if groom’s men rent tux from store. Always ask for a free tux.

The Dress:

-If you’re planning far enough out from wedding, pick stores you like with great selections and call to find out when their sales are.

- Ask for free veil if buy a gown.

-If the dress isn’t the most important part to you, you can rent an inexpensive gown, or you might get a secondhand dress. Secondhand stores or eBay have a big selection. Have the dress tailored to fit your body.

-J. Crew is another great option; they offer a new line of wedding and bridesmaids gowns, many under $300. Another inexpensive option you might not have considered – Target.com has a line of wedding dresses, all about $100.

A final thought on flowers: It will cost much, much more to get your dress tailored at a bridal store. Find a small tailor and save big bucks.

Lastly, while it’s not thought of as money-saving technique, hiring a good wedding planner can save you money. Wedding planners have special relationships with vendors and can get you great deals. Planner can also save you stress, put on fires on your wedding day, and generally give you peace of mind. You can hire them for a day, for 10 hours, or for the whole event. They can negotiate contracts, keep you on task, and help you know what to ask when speaking to vendors.

And finally, two places not to try and save money in wedding planning: your photographer, and your DJ or band. When it comes to photos, never ask a friend or hire an amateur. People seldom remember what flowers are at the wedding, but the pictures last forever. You want to hire a professional who will do a great job. And the DJ or band is what keeps the party lively after the reception. Guests will remember dancing and having a great time. Never skimp on the musical entertainment.

Happy wedding planning from Wedding Solutions!

Indian cultural weddings are increasingly becoming a scene in the urban centres of the UK and other countries. Indians hold deep traditions that are highly related to Hindu traditions, although most of their rituals vary widely depending on the Indian hometown of the bride and the groom. In the UK and in other western countries, soon-to-be-married couples are looking at Desi weddings as an option since it gives couples new wedding themes, and it also allows them to explore different ways to express their love for each other. If you are considering alternative wedding themes, you should learn the beauty of Apna weddings. It is best to ask consultants like Indian weddings-photographers on how to successfully complete an Indian wedding.

The Asian Wedding Theme

Weddings are very joyful and bright events. The procession, guests, and everything else are filled with rich colours, and you have to go through a multitude of rituals and celebrations even before the main ceremony. Indian parties can continue for several days, and the parties take place every night. If you want to strictly follow traditional Indian celebration weddings, you need the involvement of your family wedding planner to walk you through the event. Indian (wedding) photographers are recommended, so you can capture every special moment of your wedding.

Unlike Christian weddings where we can choose whom to invite or not, North Indian punjabi weddings are very public, and you can invite as many as 1000 people, and more if you are can afford it. An punjabi wedding is one of the most critical ceremonies in the lives of the Hindus and Sikhs alike. In this ceremony, the bride is given to the husband to be with him for the rest of his life, not only because the bride loves the groom, but also because of the new duty that she is receiving. India weddings also have a lot of great dancing and festive music. The joy of Indian weddings is one of the biggest reasons why many are interested in having an Indian themed wedding. Indian wedding(s) are also a great way to wear different garbs while compelling your guests to wear exotic attire.

Choosing-From-Indian-Wedding-Photographers

Finding an Indian-wedding-photographer is not as hard today as finding one in previous years. However, you should be able to find specific criteria that will help you choose your Indians wedding-photographer. Brides and grooms should remember that a great wedding photographer must be able to present a great portfolio. From the portfolio, you can develop an impression of a photographer’s work, so you can decide if he or she is the one that you need.

Before you can choose from Indian-wedding-photographers and wedding planners, you must draw out what you want from your wedding day. Once you have created your asian wedding idea, you can go down to the specifics. Make a list of the things that you would like to have. Select from different photographer outputs like the number of prints, the type of photo album, and specific photo shots for very important sections. You can also decide if you want to have a base package for online photo journals, so you can share your moments online instantly.

After listing the specifics of the photo output, discuss your preferred style with your photographer. There are wedding photographers that greatly specialise in Indian party weddings, so it is best to find one that is familiar with the styles that will help bring out the joy of an Indian wedding. Classic wedding photography may work for Indian weddings, but you might still find a lot of elements missing if you cannot select from great Indian celebration wedding photographers for your wedding coverage

Experience with asian-weddings or other multicultural weddings is a great plus in selecting a wedding photographer. Different cultures have a wide range of wedding themes, and each theme has a different treatment in terms of finding the balance of rituals and celebrations that are most meaningful to the participants. Punjabi-photo-graphers must know the highs and lows of an fun packed wedding, so they can be at the right place during the right moment. Give your wedding photographer(s) a lot of creative freedom, so their best work can shine through.

Finally, it is important to open the lines of communication with your wedding-s photographer-s. He or she must understand what you want done, so they can work on your instructions and know what their border of creativity is. It takes a special eye to capture our weddings. Thus, make sure that your photographer understands the culture behind the wedding ceremony, so he could key in on the best moments and exploit on that to present a very positive picture of your experience.

Just as with any big show, your wedding day will not be perfect – but that’s okay. While you cannot plan ahead for every little detail or problematic situation that may arise, you can arm yourself with some helpful advice to be prepared at all times for any potential wedding mistakes. But before you begin planning your special day, consider these five biggest wedding preparation and planning mistakes that amateur ‘wedding planners’ often make.

1. Not Budgeting Costs

It’s hard to believe, but true – many couples do not create a budget when it comes to wedding preparation and end up in a deep hole of debt. The very first thing you should do to avoid disastrous (and bankrupting) wedding mistakes is devise an itemized budget, allowing for the necessary requirements, such as a venue for both the ceremony and reception, food and drinks, flowers, favors, decorations, etc. If anything is left over, either use this money for your honeymoon or spend it on something a little more frivolous, like a horse drawn carriage for your departure from the reception.

Budgeting ahead of time also involves your acknowledging the fact that you may surpass the total by at least 10%. Surprises do happen, so cutting back on other needless things will ensure that you don’t go over budget too much. In these initial wedding preparation stages, you and your fiancé need to discuss who will be paying for what. It used to be that the bride’s parents paid for everything, but this ideal is slowly fading away. If you’re still coming up short on funds, there are literally hundreds of ways to cut costs for your wedding day, including having fewer guests, choosing an off-season date, selecting flowers that are in season, and having friends and family play a bigger part by making the wedding cake or trying their hand at photography.

2. Not Giving Yourself Enough Time

The image of the harried bride has been engrained into the psyche through a number of television shows that hype up the combination of little to no time and a ‘my way or the highway’ attitude. This is why giving yourself ample wedding preparation time is necessary to ensuring that your wedding flows seamlessly. If you want a large, extravagant wedding, you need to begin planning at least a year and a half in advance; for a smaller, more intimate wedding of about 50 guests, eight months to a year is fine. You need to take into account what your plans are for your wedding and adjust your schedule accordingly to prevent costly wedding mistakes from occurring.

Giving yourself more wedding preparation time allows you to order your cake, dress, wedding favors, flowers, decorations, etc. well in advance so that you don’t come up empty-handed from last minute rushing. Allotting enough time also applies to your wedding ceremony and reception. Don’t keep your guests waiting at the reception venue while you and your wedding party are taking hundreds of photos – consider taking a majority of the pictures before the ceremony and the all-important couple, wedding party, and family pictures after the vows have been exchanged.

3. Not Delegating Responsibilities

Delegating responsibilities, wedding preparation tasks, and roles is vital – you cannot do everything! For brides, their bridesmaids are there to help them with the important duties of the wedding day, so creating a short list of responsibilities for each friend is not unexpected. Mothers, family members, and friends are also glad to help run a few errands or make calls for you if you ask. Just make sure you ask someone you know will get the job done on time.

Part of the wedding experience also relies on a number of people who require detailed wedding preparation directives from you, such as the caterer, photographer, florist, transportation and/or drivers, and DJ. Discussing your ideas with them ensures that you can work together on the same wavelength and avoid embarrassing wedding mistakes during the actual reception. You should also arrange for the wedding party to meet at the church or the wedding ceremony location at a specified time. Corralling so many people at the same time is what leads many couples to pick up the wedding party members at their homes. Late arriving wedding party members is one of the most frequent and sometimes uncontrollable wedding mistakes a bride and groom have to deal with.

4. Not Hiring a Wedding Planner or Someone You Trust

Many brides swear by their wedding planners, and yes, it’s true that they take care of just about everything involved in wedding preparation and planning, preventing a number of the more common wedding mistakes brides make. It’s kind of like you and your fiancé are the stars, while the wedding planner works behind the scenes for your big performance, seeing everything from start to finish. Wedding planners know all the ins and outs of great wedding preparation and planning and can help the couple find reliable caterers, bridal attire and supply stores, transportation, and DJs at lower prices. Before signing any contracts, however, talk with the wedding planner to see if it’s a situation you’re happy with.

While incredibly helpful, wedding planners can also be pricey, unfortunate for the bride who is trying to cut costs. This scenario goes back to delegating responsibilities – ask someone you trust to help you make wedding preparation arrangements and appointments with each wedding supply store and/or vendor. You can even scale back operations and have a simplistic wedding that you plan or DIY completely to save money.

5. Not Fully Considering the Reception Venue and Details

Sending your guests on a wild goose chase to find the reception venue is something that happens more often than you’d think and is one of the biggest wedding mistakes couples overlook. For out-of-town guests, this is confusing; for in-town guests, it’s an annoyance. Choosing a reception venue that’s close to the wedding site is a must, unless you provide the transportation to and from the reception. More than 15 – 20 minutes away is a hassle, and some guests may not even bother going if it’s farther than that.

Otherwise, if your reception venue is outside (or exposed to the elements), rain and windy conditions may appear so you should always have a back up in cases of inclement weather. A rained out wedding reception is one of the more common wedding mistakes brides have neglected to plan for. Part of the wedding preparation necessities should also include your requesting the venue’s landscaper to spray for bugs so your guests aren’t being bitten by mosquitoes and gnats.

Learn to Laugh Off Those Wedding Mistakes

Pre-wedding preparation, while helpful, will inevitably miss some little detail of your big day. These wedding mistakes (or, more likely, minor ‘blips’) are to be expected and may even provide a funny moment for you and your fiancé to laugh about in the future. Are you having a wedding event soon? Perhaps you have been assigned the role of a wedding planner (unwillingly maybe) by your best friend, and you can find no good reason to turn her down. You can either get stressed out by the entire event, or you can try to find help. Fortunately, it’s good to know that help is readily available.

Many people underestimate the job of a wedding planner. That is because they have never planned for such an event before. A wedding event, unlike an ordinary party event, requires more time, energy and resources than what most people are prepared to put in. The end result is that many details are either left out, or left unattended. Just stop and think for a moment, the different aspects of a wedding event.

The accomplished wedding planner will have to look into the clothing of the bride, the groom and the bridesmaid. She will also have to make sure that the venue is booked in advance, and all the necessary decorations must be ready on the big day itself. The music, of course, has to be right. The activities for the day has to be planned. The master of ceremony has to be present. And that is just the tip of the ice berg.

All in all, the wedding planner has to make sure that everything just mentioned (and more) has to go according to plan. One wrong move, and the whole day could be spoiled. For example, imagine the wedding cake arriving late. With tons of guests waiting for the ceremonies to proceed, that is surely a disaster. And yes, a good wedding planner will take the trouble to make a phone call to remind the vendor to deliver the cake on time.

If you are going to hire a wedding planner, that is the level of professionalism that you should expect. A good wedding planner should leave nothing to chances. She thinks of everything so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. It doesn’t matter if it’s your own wedding or not. In the hands of a professional, you have very little to worry about.

Here is a final tip for you. A professional wedding planner can lot a lot of things for you. But be prepared to work with the planner as closely as possible. The planner will help you create a plan that you are happy with, and carry out the execution. But in the process, you should help furnish the planner with all kinds of helpful information. For instance, if there is something that you don’t like, voice it out early. Don’t wait till the last minute and then blame the planner for not doing a good job.

If you can work closely with the planner, everything will go according as planned, and everyone will be happy. It’s a win-win for all.

Many happy returns for the betrothed couple! Before you begin a lifetime together, all of the plans related to your wedding day must still be worked out. The sooner you begin the process, the less you will need to concern yourself with the details later.

Arranging plans for your wedding day can involve a multitude of tasks from selecting a ceremony location to making your honeymoon arrangements and everything in between. The average cost of a Dallas wedding averages $26,000 for 150 guests, with many couples exceeding that figure as special touches are added, guest lists mushroom and venues are upgraded. Regardless of your budget and stress level, you can control costs and enjoy your day rather than being saddled with tremendous debt and heartache through careful planning. One way to ensure this is to hire a wedding planner.

What is a wedding planner and what do they do?

Known as wedding planners, wedding consultants or wedding coordinators, professionals who plan and direct weddings for a living can be invaluable to busy brides and grooms trying to plan a wedding amidst their demanding careers and hectic everyday lives. Whatever the title, you want to hire a true professional – one who has had proper education and training and has been certified. You also would be wise to seek a consultant who has solid experience and is active in professional wedding industry organizations. Ask to see portfolios and request references.

A good wedding planner will first assess the needs of her clients by asking vision-casting questions to determine important factors such as the style of wedding they desire, size of guest list and available budget. Once the vision is established, the consultant will help develop a game plan for the entire planning process, tailored specifically for the happy couple. Moving forward, the planner will work hand-in-hand with the bride in all of the planning details, keeping track of deadlines, payment schedules and budget adherence.

If you choose to hire a wedding planner, it is most beneficial to have them involved from the beginning, when they can save you time and stress by helping you devise a focused plan and by guiding you to wedding vendors that have been pre-researched.

Many brides feel they can plan the wedding solo, only to find themselves overwhelmed with all the details and later hire a wedding consultant halfway through the process. If a bride has the time and resources to do all of the legwork to plan her own wedding and is especially organized, she might just hire a wedding planner to orchestrate the rehearsal and wedding day. The planner can ensure that everything runs smoothly, coordinate the wedding party and vendors, relieve tensions, and allow those participating in the celebration to relax and enjoy themselves knowing that everything is being taken care of!

You may decide to plan the entire wedding yourself or have a close friend or family member help, which is sometimes part of the fun of planning a wedding. However, it can also become a major headache especially if you or your faithful helpers do not have the expertise of proper training. An experienced wedding consultant has the training and experience to do the ground work, and make sure that your day is as perfect as you had envisioned it, while you relax and watch it play out before your eyes.

How Can A Wedding Planner Save You Money?

The biggest misconception about hiring a wedding planner is that it will add to your expenses. While it does cost money to hire a wedding planner, she will be able to save you money by recommending wedding vendors that will provide service within your budget, review your contracts to look for hidden costs and possible discounts, and help you avoid making costly mistakes. In most cases, a wedding planner will already have well-established relationships with vendors, such as photographers and florists, who are sometimes willing to be more flexible with a planner’s client because of the planner’s ability to bring them repeat business, which can help in reducing some of your costs.

Here Comes the Bride!

Once your wedding plans are in place you can fully enjoy the day without worrying about the details. A wedding planner can help you stay on track and relieve you of much of the minutiae related to planning your wedding. Before you know it, the bridal march will be playing and you will be at peace and enjoying your special day thanks to some wise planning on the part of you and your intended.
